Scott received his Bachelors of Music from Bowling Green State University in 2002 as a student of Dr. Roger Schupp. He has more recently further deepened his studies with Dan Weiss (Starebaby/Miles Okazaki/Miguel Zenon).

During his time at BG he performed in Balinese gamelan ensembles, African drum ensembles, percussion ensembles, jazz combos, and big bands. Scott has also performed in pit orchestras in nearly 30 different musical theater productions. With 56 Daze (Knot magazine winner of “Best of Weddings Hall of Fame Award”) he performs all year round including in the past numerous times at Detroit Lions games, The House Of Blues, and at The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.

Scott’s recent recordings include “The Luddite” - Mark Sims, “West By Midwest” - Anthony Michael Lowe, Secret Stones, and two self created albums titled “Complete Denial After Vivid Proof” - Part Wolf, and another titled “Where You Begin And I Divide” - 100 Million Bright on Rapture Heart Records in 2015. He has also recorded for sync work, and maintains an active schedule with numerous other creative projects.

Scott Hafferkamp is a drummer and vibraphonist drawn to the conversation inside a song: pulse, texture, silence, and the moment a room begins to listen back.

His work moves between focused rhythmic detail and open-ended atmosphere, treating the drum set as both a timekeeper and a source of color.

Whether in performance, collaboration, or the studio, he follows the contours of the music at hand—leaving space for friction, instinct, and surprise.
